Love is
always believed to be something good, and it is if it starts in God. But there
is a kind of love that doesn't come from God and God doesn't approve it. This
kind of love leads to worldly practices and has penetrated into the church and
in the life of many Christians. According to the verse 15 what kind of love is
that?
What does it mean to love the world? What is the
world? Is it the physical world where we live? Is it the human race?
According to verse 16, what makes up the world?
What happens to those who love the world?
According to this passage, who lives forever?
What are the consequences of loving the world
according to verses 15 and 17?
Application:
1- There
is a system which is separated and opposed to God, and controlled by the devil
(the world of sin/evil);
2- Those
who love this world have no room for God's love neither do God's will
3- The
love of this world is temporary and destructive;
4- If we
want to do God's will we can't love the world because this would mean to be
subject to the prince of this world, that's Satan. We should, on the contrary,
RENOUNCE the domain of the world over our lives. Do this now in prayer.
